President's Bulletin – December 16th, 2022

Ladies Pennant

Last Friday, our ladies pennant team had a great win over Bright to reach the finals which are today. They are playing Jubilee at Jubilee, all the best ladies, the Club is cheering you on.

Men’s Comp.

A great field of 31 players played in the Medal of Medals stroke event last Saturday.

David Rowe and Gerard Black both played brilliantly with a play off to see whose name went onto the honor board, well done David. A legend of the Club Bill Westcott has donated a prize for the Men’s winner, hopefully Bill will be there tomorrow to present his prize. Bill also donates a prize to the ladies in memory of his wife Jo.

In the A grade event, David won 4 under on a countback from Gerard. In B grade, Robert Wheeler had a great day, 3 under with runner up Jim Martin, plus 1.

Last Wednesday, our best field for a long time saw 18 play, Geoff Veldman winning on a count back from Jim Martin on 34 points. Good to see John Welch and Jade Galvan playing. John had a great start with NP on the first.

O’May Shield

Last Saturday , Craig Piazza added his name to the Ian O’May honor board for the second time. Craig defeated Doc Rossato 3/1, Congratulations Junior and a fantastic effort by the Doc.

Bar Fridge

A huge thanks to Marnie and Jim Broz for a loan of a bar fridge for the office, the Club will purchase one “when the price is right”.

Club 50

The final draw for the year will be held tonight at our Club, 5.00pm. Two draws will be conducted for the unlucky people who have not had a win this year. See you there tonight.

Holiday Roster

Thanks to the ladies who have drawn up a roster for the summer months, please add your name to the list. I don’t have to remind you that our income is down so we must earn every dollar during the summer trade.

If the office is unmanned, we have people taking advantage of the situation and we must discourage ‘free’ golf on the course. Maximizing our income throughout summer will mean that we will not have to penalize members in the future with sub increases. I urge you all to help – I say again, put your name on the roster!

Last Saturday, 5 green fee players purchased over $300 in beer, half of that money goes into our coffers!

A huge shout out to members who meet our green fee players on requests, get out their carts, particularly Judy Bynon and Peter Stewart.
