North East District Junior Championships Finals

These had to be postponed from Sunday 23rd November, because of storm damage to the course and very poor weather conditions, and were played on Sunday 30th.

To get to the finals, 60 juniors competed at junior events around the North East and the best five in each age group competed at Myrtleford.

A huge thanks to NE Co-ordinator Linda Terry and Brad Carroll at our club for promoting junior golf in the NE.

The 2025 NEDGA Junior Champion is Jack Clydesdale from Mansfield with a scratch score of 84. Won on a countback to Nicholas Batman from Benalla.

The Handicap Champion was Noah Gamble from Wodonga with a lovely nett 71, with Jack runner up on 73.

We also hosted the final of the Junior Challenge, which has run over 3 rounds during the year and the winners were as follows:

Midgets (6 hole)- Kaldon Brown, Benalla Golf Club.

Vale Alan Rockliff

Our Club is in deep shock with the sudden passing of Alan Rockliff last Saturday week.

His name is on the hole in one board, 2008, Medal of Medallist 2013 and a huge feat to his name, 3 eagles in one event. He also served on the committee.

Approximately 18 members of our Club attended Rocky’s funeral in Yackandandah last Wednesday. We were joined by a number of past members of our Club who knew and played with Rocky in Club and District events. Also in attendance where family members, former workmates and many from the Yack community.

All the speakers spoke very highly of Rocky and his dedication to family, friends, workmates and play mates from the various sports that he had participated in over the years and the communities that he had lived in.

Great memories, stories and photos of a great bloke.
