Myrtleford Golf Club Bulletin December 12^th, 2025

Men’s Comp.

Last Saturday, 6^th December, 32 players played in the Drummond Monthly Medal.

A grade winner and Medal winner was David Jackson, brilliant nett 67, runner up David Rowe with 72 on a countback from Andrew Corcoran.

B grade winner was Cornelius Van Dyke from Albury with 71 on a countback from Gerard Black.

Cornelius also had 2 NTP’s on 14th and 16th. Andrew Loftus got NTP’s on the 1^st and 8^th with David Clark on the 4^th.

Colin Walker won the Super Six on a countback from David Clark.

We also welcomed Sarah Deas, Angela O’Shaughnessy and Susan Wood from Yackandandah and two members from Albury.

On Wednesday 10^th, a field of 19 players played in the TU Vietnamese Street Food Stableford.

Tony Chapman won the day with a brilliant 36 points, runner up Jon Mercuri, 35 points.

NTP’s were Colin Walker on 1^st, Spider Hancock on the 4^th, Peter Stewart on 14^th and Ian Wales on 16^th.

SCATCH MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Club held the finals of the Match Play Championship on Saturday 6th and three fantastic matches.

Jade Galvan completed the hat trick, Club Champion, Handicap Champion and A Grade Match Play Champion defeating Brad Carroll on the 18th.

Is this a first for our club?

B grade Champion is Dick Matthews, defeating Sarge Evans, 5/4.

C grade Champion is Wazza Rowney, defeating Pieter Veldman.

Congratulations to three great Champions

Next Saturday13th December, is the Medal of Medalists,

Is Jade Galvan going to win another board event?

Wazza Rowney should start favourite as he won two.

Tuesday 9th December

It was a countback kind of day today for the Medal of Medalists playoff with Linda Loftus taking the honours - 72 nett.

Denise O’Donohue was the daily comp winner also with 72 nett,

c/b Judy Bynon.

Ball winners Judy, Suzette Kelly, Marnie Broz & Wendy Caldwell.

NTPs 1st Sarah Deas, 8th Judy & a birdie, 14th Sandra Piazza, 16th Marg Curtis.

Least putts Linda with 27.

9 hole winner Penny Dawkins 19 pts, rup Pam Brew 17.

Thursday was the Ladies Christmas finale ‘Xmas Balls’ comp followed by lunch & presentations.

Ambrose December 7th

Honouring Deric Taylor/Bob Crisp/Vic Garoni/Pat Quirk. The event saw 72 players from around the North East hit off.

Mixed team winners were Matilda, Min & Paul Preston and Sebastian Nicoli Preston with 56.5pts. Runner ups the Bailey family of Carolyn, Ken, Ruby and Warren with 57.875. Placegetters were Paul Tanner, Helen Mummery and Tina and Andrew Cook with 59pts..

Mens team winners were Neville Blewett, Mark Frost and John & Michael O’Shea with 55.875pts. Runner ups Graeme Burton, David Wyatt, Dean Johnson and Anthony Duck with 57.125pts. Placegetters were Brad & Craig Piazza and Ben & Scott McMasters with 57.25. Robert Wheeler, David Rowe, Dick Matthews and Spider Hancock with 57.625. Jon Mercuri, Gerard Black, Bill O’Donohue and Brad Carroll with 57.75pts.

Big thanks to our ladies for catering, Dick in the office and Gerard and Jon for course presentation and all the participants for supporting the Day.

Gerard has asked all players to keep carts off the tee boxes and no closer than 10m from the greens.

If you have cans and bottles at home, please donate to the Club, leave in the men’s toilet. Preference for bottles/cans are in plastic bags.
